A few things:
Tomorrow I'm going to try to follow through with this idea for Lent:
I spent the last week in Southern California to attend the passing of my girlfriend's Aunt. She battled Parkinson's for a long time, and she seemed to be at peace when she passed away. I didn't know her all that well, but she was important to my girlfriend and that's all that matters. I am very fortunate that my work said "go be with your family and don't worry about work".
Southern California is not my favorite part of California, but we did manage a half-day trip down to Laguna Beach. Staring at the Pacific Ocean and breathing the salt air did me a world of good. We both decided that if we ever had to relocate to California, Laguna Beach would be as good a place as any to settle.

How's the writing going? Well, you know... (gestures around at the state of the world). But I do have two things to report on that front:
I read a short story at the Beaverton Main Library at the end of January that was very well received.
While in California, I received the news that Weird Fiction Quarterly has accepted another one of my stories for publication.
So, there you have it. Still here. Still creating.
I hope your words are working for you!
